TRE Legal Files Class Action on Behalf of Blind Employees at Marriott Hotel Chain

Alongside the Legal Aid Society Employment Law Center of San Francisco, TRE Legal filed a class action complaint in federal court against the Marriott hotel chain for its discriminatory treatment of blind employees and applicants.  The complaint alleges that Marriott discriminates against blind and disabled employees by requiring its managers to use an inaccessible configuration of Oracle’s Seibel computer software and rejecting accessible alternatives that would allow blind Marriott employees and applicants to use screen readers to perform their job duties.  Technology has the power to open up employment opportunities for blind persons in a wide range of jobs and industries.  The lawsuit seeks to dismantle unnecessary technological barriers that prevent blind employees from doing their jobs and advancing in their careers.  Read the Complaint  or the Full Press Release.
